Recently a house hunter looked across a valley from my car and said, "look, I like that sort of style".  I looked across and there, nestled on a hillside, was a wonderful old cortijo farmhouse, half in ruins, with its pretty pink Arabic rooftiles and crumbling walls and I said "Yes isn't it lovely!"  She was actually looking at another house, a modern villa further up the hill!  These are fine, and very practical, but for me, the true beauty of Andalucía is in those wonderful old places, full of character and so perfectly in keeping with the surroundings!

I am constantly on the lookout for just that type of old building, in Malaga and Granada province and I will be loading some on to this site soon!
